Evan and Tina Gobell’s Stonewell Road vineyard sits at 255m elevation on red loam over clay peppered with ironstone. It has a gentle westerly aspect and is pruned to grow low yielding, early ripening and intensely flavoured fruit.

For wine nerds like me: Fair winter rains and a cool summer gave us a healthy crop of excellent quality.Handpicked on the 17th of February, 83% destemmed, 17% whole bunch, wild fermented in open fermenter and foudre, pressed to French oak, matured for 20 months in barrel (17% new).
